The Tata Sierra EV is set to launch in India in May 2026. Tata Motors has confirmed the electric SUV will arrive in the first quarter of FY27 (April–June 2026), with multiple test vehicles already spotted on Indian roads. The model will strengthen Tata’s growing EV portfolio and sit above the Curvv EV, positioned as a premium midsize electric SUV below the Harrier EV.
Platform and Powertrain
The Sierra EV will be built on Tata’s advanced Acti.ev+ platform, offering flexibility in battery and drivetrain configurations. It is expected to share components with the Harrier EV and Curvv EV.
Buyers will get two drivetrain options:
- Single-motor Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD)
- Dual-motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD) for superior traction and performance.
Battery, Range and Charging
The SUV is likely to be offered with multiple battery packs, including:
- 55 kWh (similar to Curvv EV)
- 65 kWh (from Harrier EV)
With the larger battery, the Sierra EV is expected to deliver a real-world range of over 500 km. It will support fast charging, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), and bidirectional charging capabilities.
Design and Exterior
The design blends the iconic Sierra’s retro appeal with modern EV elements. Highlights include:
- Closed front grille
- Full-width LED DRLs
- Split headlamp setup
- Flush door handles
- Stylish alloy wheels
- Muscular wheel arches
- Connected LED tail light bar
Interior and Features
The cabin will offer a premium, tech-loaded experience with a three-screen setup (digital cluster, infotainment touchscreen, and passenger display). Expected features include:
- Level 2 ADAS
- 360-degree camera
- Panoramic sunroof
- Ventilated front seats
- Ambient lighting
- Automatic climate control
- Powered tailgate
Expected Price in India
The Tata Sierra EV is expected to be priced starting from around ₹18 lakh (ex-showroom), making it competitive in the premium midsize electric SUV segment.
The launch is expected in May 2026, with official pricing and full specifications to be revealed at the event. The Sierra EV aims to deliver a strong mix of style, range, performance, and features for Indian EV buyers.
