The scorching summer has begun to take a serious toll across parts of Noida and Greater Noida, prompting swift action from the district administration. In response to the rising temperatures and ongoing heatwave conditions in Gautam Buddha Nagar district, authorities have revised school timings for all boards starting April 27, ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
School Timings Changed Amid Rising Heatwave Concerns
According to official orders issued by District Basic Education Officer Rahul Pawar, all schools—whether government, private, or aided—will now operate from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM. This directive applies to institutions affiliated with major boards such as CBSE, ICSE, IB, and the UP Board.
The move comes as temperatures continue to soar across the district, with intense heat and prolonged exposure posing health risks, especially for young children. The administration has made it clear that these revised timings must be strictly followed by all schools until further notice.
Decision Aimed at Student Safety
The decision has been taken under the guidance of the District Magistrate, with student health being the top priority. With heatwave conditions intensifying day by day, keeping children in classrooms during peak afternoon hours could lead to dehydration, heat exhaustion, or even heatstroke.
By shifting school hours to early morning, the administration aims to reduce students’ exposure to extreme temperatures and ensure a safer learning environment.
Strict Implementation Ordered Across All Schools
To ensure smooth implementation, copies of the official order have been circulated among key administrative officials, including:
- District Magistrate
- Chief Development Officer
- Additional District Magistrate
- City Magistrate
- Sub-Divisional Magistrates of Sadar, Dadri, and Jewar
- District Inspector of Schools
- Block Education Officers
- School Principals
Additionally, local media outlets have been informed to spread awareness among parents and the general public.
Parents Advised to Stay Alert
The administration has also appealed to parents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to protect their children from the ongoing heatwave. Ensuring proper hydration, avoiding unnecessary outdoor exposure, and adhering to the revised school schedule are key steps in safeguarding children’s health during this extreme weather.
Authorities have clarified that the revised timings are temporary and will remain in effect until weather conditions improve or new instructions are issued. With the summer season just beginning, further changes may be introduced depending on how the situation evolves.
